Belonging to the Extent of May Sail… - North Africa: Literary Crossroads
Adam FethiBelonging to the extent of my sail
I have no exile other than my country
To escape
Towards the sea
Or to leave the ramified land to its people
And perceive my loss
Belonging to the extent of my sail
I have no star
No recess
No army
No time to come
Not even the turn of the wind
Or the salute of a slingshot
Who among you does represent me
And who among you mutilates me
Let me descend into the smoke
from a door into another
From one leadership into another
From one frustration to the next
From hope to pain
From a dream
To a dream I could reach
Who hasn’t betrayed me yet has
to declare betrayal now
To enable me to distinguish martyrs’ eyes
From among this heap of pebbles
Who hasn’t betrayed me yet has
to do it
To enable me to pretend surprise
To scream straight into his eyes
Even you
Even you
Even you

well dear manal
U r so right in saying that Father -any father does have no sensitivity as to understand our inner worlds. Perhaps it is our insides are not applicable to norms and laws but they are at least different and this is the end sought by artists. I hope u can persue the shades of ur own inner world so as to remain different.
I really liked ur text in the same way I once had liked ur colletion of stories named" Inhiraf Attawabeet"-Tombs Deviation".
Congratulations
